Entering the Galerie Bailli shopping arcade at Avenue Louise 195 feels like a throwback in time. In the early 1970s, this place was the scene of numerous vibrant artistic encounters spurred on by Guy de Bruyn’s galerie d and artist-gallerist Fernand Spillemaeckers’ MTL, among others. Since July 2022, after years of vacancy, this legendary Brussels spot has been home to the Briefing Room, organised by artists Andrzej Steinbach and Steffen Zillig. The latter contributed the text and a selection of works from his latest exhibition below.
