Each month, Jessica Gysel invites an artist to take up space under the title I See / You Mean. A nod to the title of the 1970 collage novel by New York writer Lucy Lippard, an editorial snapshot, a carte blanche with an open ending.

Marnie Slater is an artist, writer, organiser, researcher, educator and a fierce ambassador for all things queer, feminist and anti-racist in collaborative art making. What makes her art practice so special is the fact that she draws from all her different, often activist activities and processes those lived experiences into art, including all the ups and downs. It makes her art punctual, relevant, real, urgent, needed and most of all, a fresh breath in an art world overflowing with ego, objects, commodities and general production overflow.
