CIVA, the multifaceted museum, archive and library for architecture and urban planning in Brussels, has established itself as one of the most forward-thinking voices in the field — a reputation it recently cemented with the groundbreaking exhibition ‘Style Congo’, which drew links between Art Nouveau and Belgian imperialism. But the institution continues to evolve. Phillip Van den Bossche and CIVA curator Silvia Franceschini discuss its vision and future.

Silvia Franceschini is a curator, researcher and writer. She is currently curator at CIVA in Brussels, after having held the same position at Z33 in Hasselt between 2018 and 2021.
