British artist Martin Creed's first retrospective opened at the Hayward Gallery in London on January 29th with over 160 works, including paintings, drawings, installations, neons, film and sculptures featured all around the gallery space and its terraces. According to Ralph Rugoff, director of the Hayward Gallery, Martin Creed's work is exceptional for its integrity and playfulness. The artist himself asks humbly: "What's the point of it?" To which he responds, "I don't know. It's a question I often ask myself. I don't really understand it but it means a lot to me."
