The Blueproject Foundation presents ‘Pieter Vermeersch’, a new solo exhibition to be seen at Il Salotto (Barcelona) until October 9th 2016. The renowned Belgian artist has built a new installation for the occasion, designed in situ for the foundation in which he thinks about what he calls “the zero-degree images” and the primary architecture. Through his creations, Vermeersch searches for a fundamental abstraction whose analytical value highlights the potential of painting, exploring every image through the use of colour.
In the installation for the Blueproject Foundation, this analysis can be found in the architectural element that is the exhibition room. “Space is stripped of its narrative”, as the artist says. Vermeersch, known for his spacious venues and colour blocking wall paint, reduces the art of painting to monochrome juxtapositions.
